5:30 pm – 6 pm: Arrivals & drinks at the Graduate School of Journalism’s library in North Gate Hall

6 pm – 8 pm: Welcome dinner (end time is approximate; could run longer)

 

MONDAY, OCT. 23, 2017

8:45 am – 9:15 am: Coffee & light breakfast

9:15 am – 10:45 am: Session #1: Why it’s important to operate ethically (Instructor: Kerry Smith)

10:45 am – 11 am: Break

11 am – 12:30 pm:  Session #2: Reporting and storytelling strategy  (Instructor: Lowell Bergman)

12:30 pm – 1:15 pm: Lunch break

1:15 pm – 2:45 pm: Session #3: The atmosphere you are operating in (Instructor: Dawn Porter)

2:45 pm – 3 pm: Break

3 pm – 4:30 pm: Session #4: Your relationship with sources (Instructors: Lowell Bergman & Thomas Burke)

4:30 pm – 5 pm: Break

5 pm – 7:30 pm: Dinner & discussion

 

TUESDAY, OCT. 24, 2017

9:15 am – 10:45 am: Session #5: Bulletproofing your story (Instructor: Thomas Burke)

10:45 am – 11 am: Break

11 am – 12 pm: Closing session

12 pm – 2 pm: Lunch, followed by confidential consultations (optional)

Please note that the Monday and Tuesday sessions will be at Sutardja Dai Hall, just east of the Journalism School, on the 6th floor in the Bechtel Boardroom.
